Reel Asian community archive strives to create a resource that illustrates the community that makes up Reel Asian film festival as an interconnected web of artists, arts workers, activists, audience members and volunteers.
After 30 years, we ask: what makes a festival; what makes a community? What keeps the festival alive? What are our histories? It’s playful, experimental and most importantly, built in conversation with the community.

Along with releasing archived Festival material and information, Reel Asian community members were invited to submit digital files or bring in physical items related to the festival in for documentation over the course of 2026.
